More Able and Talented

What is More Able and Talented?

Until recently, 'Gifted and Talented' was used to describe children now termed 'More Able and Talented'

There is no generally agreed definition of this but what is generally agreed on is that children in this group are performing, or have the potential to perform, much higher and faster than expected for their age and stage of development.

At Sutton Oak C.E Primary School, we aim to provide the best for every pupil and to account for their needs so that every pupil can achieve their full potential. This includes identifying children who are More Able and Talented.

More Able refers to high performance in academic subjects whilst Talented refers to high performance in creative areas.
