Sutton Young Singers - open rehearsal

Our Sutton network singing club gave an enthusiastic performance to their friends and families last Monday. The show included, ‘Something Inside So Strong’, a powerful song from South Africa, ‘Hey Mister Miller’, a song sung in parts about Glenn Miller, the wartime swing composer and the classic Abba song, ‘I Have a Dream’ which featured Daisy, Mia, Kenzie and Kiea in solo roles.

We finished with a Christmas sing-along, tea and mince pies!

Well done to all of our singers. You have worked hard this term and made great progress. The club has now finished until Monday 12th January.

The next concert will be at the Town Hall on Monday 2nd March.

Many thanks for your continued support,

WW1 Commemoration Big Sing

Singers from Sutton Oak joined a mass choir of more than 600 children from across Merseyside at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral  on Friday to commemorate the beginning of World War 1.

During the event the story unfolded through a special  selection of songs from the WW1 era, drama, dance and poetry. The children dressed in costume to perform the songs from the time and they learnt a little of what took place all those years ago.

We are very proud that Sutton Oak children were chosen to represent St Helens by leading 2 songs from the stage.

Well done everybody! You looked and sounded amazing!!
