As part of their current learning challenge, 'How different will you be when you are as old as your grandparents?', the children really enjoyed looking at photographs of members of staff after they had been aged 30 years using an aging app!

British Science Week Class 5AH

British Science Week Class 5AH
Class 5AH were lucky enough to be invited to The Sutton Academy to take part in a workshop on burning/combustion. They learned about Bunsen burners, including how to use them safely, and heated magnesium to create a new substance - magnesium oxide! The children worked in pairs to investigate how long a tea light would stay lit when a beaker was placed over it. Ask the children to explain what they found out and the science behind it!
They had a great time and really appreciated the opportunity to use the well-equipped laboratories at the academy.

British Science Week Class 10

British Science Week Class 10
The children completed experiments based around the topic of 'change'. They particularly enjoyed investigating the effect of adding food colouring and vinegar to bicarbonate of soda. Ask the children about the reaction they observed between the acid and alkali in their experiment.
