Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith
The children in Reception have been getting to grips with their new outdoor environment this week. They have been exploring in the woods, mastering the wiggled bikes and getting messy in the mud kitchen. However, one of the most popular challenges was using the trim trail. Some of our children really showed off their adventurous natures by leaping from the top of the climbing wedge. We were really proud to see how some children took the risk of jumping from higher and higher points, before finally jumping from the very highest point! Wow, incredible bravery from our new starters!

Next week we will be getting changed into our pe kits so please make sure they are in school. Details of what is needed for pe can be found on the website under the  Uniform section.

Cool collaboration

Cool collaboration
The children in Reception have been showing off their collaboration skills this week as they have worked together across the environment. The boys persevered to make their own 100 square using the number tiles. They negotiated roles, taking responsibility for finding, fetching, ordering, and organising the tiles. Some of the children found two minds are better than one as they created some intricate structures. Bobby and Riley tried and tested a number of designs for their 'car transporter lorry' finding that they needed to use 'cuboids' on the bottom because the 'cylinders' kept rolling away! Future architects in the making!
