Learning about the planets

World Book Day in Class 4

Descriptive writing in Class 4

In Class 4 we have shared the story Beegu, by Alexis Deacon. The children have then retold the story in their own words. The children have worked hard to make their writing exciting by using different ways to start their sentences, adjectives to describe and conjunctions to add more detail to their sentences. The children have then re-drafted their work and added illustrations. Take a look at some of the finished results...

What would it be like to be an astronaut?

In Class 4, the children have been learning about what it would be like to be an astronaut. They have found out about what it would be like if they travelled to the moon and they designed their own space suits, with all the features that would be needed to survive on the moon. The children enjoyed learning about Neil Armstrong and they generated questions to ask him about his first adventure to the moon. Ben was then in the 'hot seat' as Neil Armstrong and answered the children's questions!

In Class 4...

We have been investigating the question... Can paper be strong? We found out that paper is stronger when it is rolled into tubes. Then we designed and made paper bridges. Aaron's bridge passed the 'STRENGTH' test, as it could hold a 1kg weight without collapsing!
