Learning is fun!
We have been very interested in numbers, shapes, colours and letters in our environment. Eli painted 'someone else's name' at the easel. We like sorting, matching, counting, threading and lots more.

Run, run as fast as you can..........
After enjoying the story of The Gingerbread Man we decided to bake our own in Nursery. It was great fun mixing all the ingredients together, especially when it changed to dough. We rolled it out and cut out our shapes before decorating them. They were delicious! Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!

Autumn Walk
We have been exploring the school grounds looking for signs of Autumn. There were lots of different coloured leaves and most of them were on the ground. he children took a special Autumn collection bag home and filled it with Autumn treasures. They brought these back to school for us to investigate.

Reading is fabulous!
We love to read books in Nursery and we like to share them with our friends and family. We have lots and lots of favourite stories, especially the traditional tales such as the Gingerbread Man. Remember a book can be enjoyed anywhere and anytime.

Outdoor learning is fun!

Outdoor learning is fun!
During our first half term the children have been having lots of fun exploring the outdoor play area. They have been den building, climbing, sharing, filling and pouring and taking risks. They are becoming more independent and are learning to put on and take off their outdoor clothing. We look forward to more outdoor fun!

We really enjoyed feeding the animals especially the goats, cows and sheep.  We had to remember to hold our hands everybody flat and wash them well afterwards.

Our trip to Windmill Animal Farm

Our trip to Windmill Animal  Farm
We had a fabulous day at the farm. The children had the opportunity to feed the animals, enjoy a train ride and have fun on the indoor and outdoor play areas.  The weather was very kind to us!  More pictures to follow.

Firefighter visit

Firefighter visit
We had lots of fun looking at the fire engine and the special equipment that is used by the firefighters.  The children got a chance to squirt water from the huge hose!  We have enjoyed learning about people who help us and look forward to more visitors in the future.

Mother's Day tea party

Mother's Day tea party
A fantastic time was had by all today as we sang some special songs for our special guests at our Mother's Day tea party. The children also told their special guests why they love them. Some of the reasons where 'because they hug and kiss me', 'because they take me to Blackpool' and 'because she is beautiful'.  We enjoyed tea and biscuits and took selfies. We gave our mums a tulip that we had planted and a hand made card.  Thank you for coming and we hope you all enjoyed it.

Our special visitor

Our special visitor
We had a visit from a lollipop lady who told us all about her job.  The children asked lots of questions and sang the 'lollipop lady' song for her. We now all know how the lollipop lady helps us.  When the children were first asked about the things that lollipop ladies do, many of them thought that they gave out lollipops to the children.

World Book Day
We really enjoyed bringing our favourite story books to Nursery and wearing our pyjamas.  We  read 'Superworm' and made mud pies with worms on top.  We looked for numbers buried in a tray full of worms.  These are just a few of the fun activities that took place.

We have had lots of fun flipping pancakes, real ones and pretend ones.  The children were great at talking about the ingredients that we used to make them. They were very tasty.  We also made play dough pancakes and flipped pancakes to reveal letters that we have been learning in Read, Write, Inc.

The children have had lots of fun exploring pumpkins.  They have talked about the weight, size, shape and patterns on the pumpkins they children loved picking out the seeds with the tweezers.
