World Book Day in Reception

Date: 3rd Mar 2018 @ 3:24pm

The children in Reception had great fun celebrating World Book day on Thursday. The children came to school dressed in their comfiest pyjamas, bringing along their favourite bedtime buddy and a book!

We began the day joining our grown ups in the Infant Hall for the Big Book Breakfast, sharing toast and big books with them. Then we returned to class and listened to our whole school World Book Day book - 'Biscuit Bear'. As part of our theme day we opened our new Bakery/Cafe role play, where we pretended to bake delicious treats, wrote down orders, recipes, receipts and counted out the money.

We also tasted different kinds of biscuits to choose our favourite. We then recorded this on a huge floor pictogram using real bisuits and our faces! We discovered the milk chocolate covered digestive was our clas favourite, with 11 children choosing it as the best! Mrs Devereux's favourite biscuit the fruit shortcake had the least votes with only 1 other vote!

The children also enjoyed learning circus skills just like the biscuits in the story in the hall with Mr Johnson!

We had a brilliant day!
