Counting in 25s and 50s

To learn how to count in 25s and 50s, the children were given a random number from the 25 times table. They were then given 5 minutes to arrange themselves correctly from smallest to largest, starting at 25. The task generated lots of discussion about who should go where and the children were even able to spot patterns and identify numbers which were missing from the sequence. We discussed how the 25 times table contains the 50 times table as well.
