Special Education Needs
At Sutton Oak C.E. Primary School we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve at school. In order to do this many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey. Quality teaching is vital; however for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them fulfil their potential. For more information about how we do this, please look at our SEN Information report.
The Children and Families Bill (2014) requires Local Authorities and Schools to publish and keep under review, information about services available for the children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their local area. This is called the 'Local Offer'. The intention of the local offer is to improve chioce and transparency for families. It is also an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area. The St.Helens local offer can be found below at

At Sutton Oak, we use the St.Helens Local; Offer to help us to meet the needs of our SEND pupils and their families.
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) at Sutton Oak is Mrs McGovern. The deputy SENDCO is Mrs Devereux.
