What makes me, ME!

Week commecing 26.09.22
To start the week off, the children enjoyed listening to the story 'What makes me, ME'. They discovered many different things that make us special and unique by exploring physical features, hobbies/interests and individual talents!
We have also explored how we can be fantastic friends, through the story Crayon. We thought about what qualities make a fantastic friend and we've been trying our best to show them by sharing, saying kind words and being helpful, when we play. We now have a kindness jar to help us to collect all of the kind things we do everyday!
We explored the story 'We are all works of art' and explored how different artists have created portraits, thinking about how all look different and how that makes us unique. We used mirrors to look closely at the different parts of our face, naming them and thinking about what shape and colour they are. We then drew our faces and painted them too! All the children's paintings look very different and the children have really shown their own artist flare!
We have also explored our senses, using the story Hooray for Hoppy! Hoppy explores his senses in Spring. We talked about the different seasons and what differences we see during Autumn. The children were able talk about many seasonal changes that we discover during Autumn! We then went into the woods to explore our senses and find lots of Autumn natural objects to take part in paint printing! whilst in the woods the children loved talking about all the different things that they could see, feel and hear as they explored!
Despite all the fun the children have had througout the week, their favourite thing was 'Stay and Play' and having the opportunity to invite their grown ups into their learning environment to explore with them!
Next week we will begin learning about people who help us in school, in emergencies and to stay healthy!
